Bangladesh is the 8th most vulnerable country to climate change in the world. Climate disasters disproportionately affect women in Bangladesh. These include increased burden of work in private and public spheres, losses associated with displacement from rural areas, increasingly reduced mobility, worsening access to all forms of care and resources, and various other human rights violations.

The impacts of climate change are showcased in the losses of lives and livelihoods of most Bangladeshis living in rural areas. They also amplify existing issues, in particular gender and social inequalities.

Despite all odds, Bangladeshi women continue to showcase their resilience through incredible local adaptation practices.
